On the occasion of the 4th edition of the Milan Insurance Festival 2022, our CEO and Co-Founder Sauro Mostarda participated in the conference «The «S» factor and the fate of start-ups», a meeting in which some of the most current issues in the insurance and Insurtech sector were addressed. The Lokky Co-Founder, specifically, focused on three key topics of today’s insurance market, answering some questions:
- “Italian Startups and Venture Capital”: «The venture capital market is currently experiencing many difficulties. Several startups resort to aggregating with their competitors to share investments and costs. Is this a path that Italian startups can also take?»;
- “Insurtech and consolidated insurance companies”: “Are established insurance companies ready and willing to form relationships with startups?”;
- “Foreign Insurtechs and the Italian market”: «If a foreign competitor wanted to enter Italy, it would find itself faced with almost insurmountable regulatory barriers to entry. Do capital raisings risk making it possible to overcome these barriers, making Italy a hunting ground for foreign Insurtechs? With what risks for the Italian market?».
