On the occasion of the Italy Insurance Forum 2022, the event in which Lokky was proclaimed Best Insurtech 2022 at the Italy Insurance Awards, the CEO Paolo Tanfoglio was interviewed on some of the most current topics in the insurance and Insurtech sector: Open innovation And Business continuity.
Starting from the first paradigm, the so-called Open Innovation, it states that companies can and must make use of ideas external to their corporate context, as well as internal resources, and access different markets through internal and external paths if they want to advance their technological skills. Essentially, therefore, companies must increasingly adopt an innovation model that not only looks at their own corporate reality, but also makes use of external tools and skills (such as startups, research institutes, universities, other companies).
On the topic, the CEO stated: “Lokky firmly believes in creating ecosystems with its partners. We believe it is essential to collaborate with companies that are in contact with our target customers, therefore micro-businesses, professionals and freelancers, to provide them with an additional tool to provide a service to their customers. Lokky, in fact, acts as a technological enabler by making its platform available in different degrees, depending on the will of the individual partner”.
As regards Business Continuity and the difficulty of preserving one’s corporate and organizational realities following the growing post-pandemic Cyber attacks and the current complex geopolitical situation, Lokky is very clear about the new trends: «The number of cyber attacks and their severity are continually growing. But unfortunately, especially in the world of SMEs, sensitivity on this issue is still limited. This is why it is necessary to raise customer awareness and offer the correct products to protect themselves from these risks and guarantee business continuity to the entrepreneur.”.
The Lokky offer is based on the assumption that Italian SMEs and Professionals are underinsured, due to the gap between supply and demand. On the one hand, a lack of knowledge of the end customer in the insurance sector, on the other an offer of dated products not aligned with current market needs. This is why Lokky wants to offer 100% customized products based on the real needs of different business realities.
