How to make yourself known on the internet?

Whether you are an entrepreneur, a freelancer, an artist or a blogger, you are present on the internet to make yourself known. But you’ve probably noticed that the competition is tough and it can seem very complicated to find a place in the sun. Fortunately, if you are motivated, start with a real strategy and show perseverance, the results will be promising. Here are some great tips if your budget is tight (works great for large accounts too!).

Blog again and again!

This isn’t news and I’m probably not the first to tell you this. However, if there are many of us who say it, there must be a reason. You will probably tell me that there are a lot of blogs in your industry and you will probably be right. However, if your competition hasn’t scared you away from starting your business, it shouldn’t slow you down from launching your blog either.

To make this work, some basic rules:

  • Target your niche : Your items do not have to be identical to those of your competitors. Find your audience, analyze their needs and create content.
  • Don’t write for yourself : The goal is to provide solutions to your audience, not talk about you or your products. Inspire them, help them improve with your content.
  • Be regular : Tell yourself that every time you put your fingers on the keyboard, you are already better than 90% of the competition who don’t make that effort.
  • Be good : Readers and search engines honor quality. If you spend a little more time than average taking care of your content, placing eye-catching images, fixing your mistakes, and taking care of your style, you’ll likely outperform your competition.
  • Start as early as possible : if your product isn’t finished or even if you don’t yet have a clear idea of the business you want to develop, the sooner you start, the better. This will allow you to gather a community around your project before you even have anything to sell! Additionally, if your idea isn’t very clear yet, it’s possible that questions and feedback from your community will help you better target your project to meet their expectations.

Vary the content and media

Posting content on your blog is excellent. However, there are so many opportunities to make yourself known today that it would be a shame to limit yourself to this. Although blogs are particularly numerous, those that embark on video and are good enough to attract their audience are not numerous.

Also think about ebooks, white papers and email marketing, very useful for building an audience and lead base. Finally, don’t settle for just your blog. You can definitely invest in other platforms like Linkedin or Medium. These platforms are popular and will help you gain the trust of your customers and gain recognition and authority in your industry.

A little SEO!

If you don’t make an effort in this direction, you will miss your goal. Ranking well in search engine results for queries relevant to your audience is essential. This requires some technical knowledge which I recommend you learn in my Ebook “Learn SEO Easily”. Click the button below to get it!

Ebook: Reference your blog effectively

Social networks

Armed with solid content, set out to conquer your audience on social networks. To do this, a small clarification is necessary: do not position yourself on too many social networks. I know, we tend to say that the more present we are, the better. But in reality, you may not keep up. There are many social networks and it is best to take the time to choose which ones to invest in to reach your audience.

Take the time to create a Facebook page and a Twitter account, for example, or an Instagram and Pinterest account if your readers and customers are there. So if you manage it correctly and your audience grows, you can slowly invest in other networks.

Finally, on your blog, include sharing buttons for social networks. A word of advice though. Don’t have too many share buttons. If your reader is presented with too many choices, they will give up. If you limit yourself to two or three networks, sharing will be more natural.

Paid SEO

The methods described above take time to produce results. Plus, paid search can help you pay off more quickly. This obviously requires a budget, but it is also one of the cheapest and most targeted means of advertising. Why deprive yourself of it?

Retargeting

Whether through search engine networks or social networks, retargeting allows you to target people who have visited your site. From then on, you can define scenarios to reach different audiences:

  • people who haven’t visited your site for x days so they don’t forget you
  • people who stopped at a product without purchasing it
  • people who have read an article on a specific topic to propose additional content, an ebook, a white paper or a related product, etc.

The possibilities are numerous and will allow you to engage your contacts more effectively.

Influencers

As you build your audience on social media, you may see bloggers, journalists, and influencers of all kinds pop up. Don’t hesitate to talk to them, even if they don’t follow you. Ask them their opinion on an item, propose a product test, etc. There is still so much to do and your personality, your tone and your creativity will lay the foundation for a pleasant relationship with your influencers.

Conclusion

To make this work, you will have to define a strategy around targeted and precise objectives. The ideal is to mix all the suggestions above. All this only makes sense when we put everything in motion in the same direction. Blogging without SEO doesn’t work. Social networks without content do not produce results.

If you can automate part of your web marketing, you will have a high-impact, efficient site that will work even when you are not in the office. Don’t waste time, start as soon as possible!
